GKI employees donated over 350 books during our July 2009 book drive to benefit the children of the Erie Neighborhood House. Since 1870, Erie House has been a classroom, a home away from home and a community center for the thousands of low-income and recent immigrant families it serves each year. Through education, leadership opportunities and culturally competent services, Erie impacts 5,000 individuals and families annually.

Lisa Johnson and Farzad Shahsavarani, co-founders and owners of Gourmet Kitchens, Inc., were named as finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® award in the Midwest. This group of exceptional entrepreneurs was selected by an independent judging panel made up of regional business, academic and community leaders.
